Joy Gardner - Retreat Administrator & Speaker
Joy was born and raised in Princeton, MN. Her family spent each summer the first 18 years of her life traveling throughout the United States because her father was an itinerant evangelist.
Joy graduated from Moody Bible Institute and Trinity International University in the Chicagoland area with a degree in Christian Education and Elementary Education. She then taught school for 2 years in the Deerfield, IL school district.
After that, Joy spent a brief stint with Youth for Christ in Algonquin, IL before joining staff at Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, IL.
Joy returned home to Minnesota and worked in the Alumni & Parent Relations Office at Bethel University.
That position eventually led her to FCA. Joy has spent the last 15 years plus coordinating events, working with college students, and serving as a College Huddle Leader Coordinator at Sports and Leadership camps for Minnesota FCA.
To sum it all up, Joy has been in ministry for over 40 years. Her excitement for Bold + Beautiful and the FCA ministry is best said in her own words,
“I’ve had life experiences that have molded my heart to be an encourager to women – mostly high school and college aged women. Because of those life experiences, I feel it’s important to not only encourage but to speak truth in a day when truth is relative and watered down to fit our culture. Women need to know they have an identity that starts with Jesus Christ and that they are not alone on their journey of becoming secure in who they are, embracing their God-given thumb print, and using the unique gifts He has given them to serve Him.”
