Golfing 50 Holes in 5 Hours for FCA!

The FCA 50 in 5 Golf-a-thon is a golf marathon fundraiser designed to support FCA's Chapel Ministry to the WNBA MN Lynx.  FCAhas a strong chapel ministry throughout the world.  A chaplain provides the players and coaches an opportunity to come together for game day chapels, team bible studies and one on one spiritual mentoring to learn about God’s love and grow closer in their relationship with Jesus.  With your support, Michelle Backes will be able to minister to some of the most influential female athletes in the world.  Most players in the WNBA also play in foreign countries in the off season and have the opportunity to be ambassadors for Christ all over the world.  The money raised will help to supply bibles and bible study resources for the players and coaches as well as provide Michelle with a part-time income as a MN FCA staff person.

What do Chaplains do?

As a sports chaplain, it is your sacred duty and high privilege to love and to lead the people in your charge. It is your responsibility to pray for, to serve, to challenge and to extravagantly love them. You can do no more and the Lord Jesus expects no less. You must be willing to invest and begin a journey of faith that will be most fulfilling for you and for those whom you serve.

Chaplain Impact

The people of sport have tremendous influence. Many are called to be Christ’s ambassadors to the sporting community and are given a unique opportunity to publicly display the parallel between biblical principles and athletic fundamentals. But too often, the people of sport are the most misunderstood and spiritually neglected. They are also some of the most exploited and overexposed within the Christian community.

That’s why the sports chaplain is among the most strategic points of ministry for our complex world.
