The Rochester Area FCA Youth Flag Football League
is for boys and girls, in grades 1-6 (Fall 2016) who want to develop their football skills, grow as an athlete through teamwork, and build their personal character.  Athletes will have a team practice session to work on their football skills each night before playing against other teams in their age group.  At each session, there will be a speaker focusing on a specific character theme: 

Heart of a Champion, Sportsmanship, Being a Good Teammate, Self-Discipline, Overcoming Adversity, Being an "Uncommon" Athlete, Combining Faith & Sports

Memory Verses

Week 1: 

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Week 2:

Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd. I have everything I need.”

Week 3:

Matthew 5:6 “Those who want to do right more than anything else are happy. God will satisfy them.”

Week 4: 

Proverbs 13:20 “Whoever spends time with wise people will become wise. Whoever makes friends with fools will suffer.”

Week 5: 

Isaiah 40:8 “The grass dies and the flowers fall. But the Word of God will live forever.”

Week 6:

1 Corinthians 10:31 “So if you eat, drink or do anything, do it all for the glory of God.”


Typical Monday Schedule

  • 5:30 - 6:00 (gr 1-2)  Team Practice - Learning the Fundamentals
  • 6:00 - 6:50 (gr 1-2)  Flag Football Games 
  • 6:55 - 7:10 (gr 1-6)  Character Training Talk for All Grades
  • 7:10 - 7:40 (gr 3-4, 5-6)  Team Practice - Learning the Fundamentals
  • 7:40 - 8:30 (gr 3-4, 5-6)  Flag Football Games

Teams consist of 10-12 kids for each age grouping.

  • Grades 1-2:  "AFC" league
  • Grades 3-4:  "NFC - South" league
  • Grades 5-6:  "NFC - North" league

League Staff

League director is James Bolin, FCA Area Director for Southeast MN. Bolin is also the 9th Grade Boys Basketball Coach at Rochester Century. Teams will be coached in practices and games by volunteer parents, as well as college and high school athletes.

Weather Policy

The league will still play if it is raining, but will be cancelled if there is lightning.

What to Wear / Bring

  • Football cleats or athletic shoes
  • Athletic wear (shorts, team t-shirt)
  • Water bottle

Scholarships are available upon request.


Sign up early as space is limited!  Late registrations and walk-ups will be accepted, space permitting, at _____.

Registration includes:

  • Team Dri-Fit shirt
  • Practice/skills training time
  • Games on RCTC's turf field under the lights
  • Team awards

Register Online

Online registration for the 2016 season will be available starting in May.

All registrations are being taken online and must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.  Payment can be made by credit card online or by sending in a check.
