2026 FCA Coaches Breakfast at Arise with the Guys

Southwest Metro FCA Area Director Chris Strange shared personally about the impact a coach had on his own life. During a formative season, this coach invested deeply in Chris, pointed him toward Jesus, and continued walking alongside him through challenges in college.

That relationship became a turning point in Chris’s faith journey.

Years later, Chris now serves with FCA, investing in coaches and helping them recognize the same opportunity his coach once had with him: to use the platform of sports to make an impact that reaches far beyond the game.

The morning also included encouragement from Tony Dungy and Cooper Kupp, who spoke about the lasting influence coaches can have on the people they lead.

Cooper reflected on coaches in his own life, along with Tony, who modeled what it looked like to pursue Christ. Their influence challenged him to become more than a better athlete. They challenged him to become a man of God.

That is the opportunity coaches have every day.

Wins and losses matter in the moment. Skills developed through sports can last for years. But the influence of a coach who intentionally invests in an athlete’s life can extend far beyond a season.

At FCA, we believe coaches are some of the most influential people in our communities. When coaches are equipped to pursue Jesus and lead from their faith, that influence reaches their teams, their athletes, and ultimately families and communities.

The Minnesota FCA Coaches Breakfast was a powerful reminder that coaching is about more than what happens on the field, court, or track. Every conversation, every encouragement, and every intentional investment is an opportunity to point someone toward Christ.
