JASON TURNER
SOUTHWEST MN AMBASSADOR | JASONTURNER@FCA.ORG
Hello everyone, my name is Jason Turner, and I grew up in Storden, Minnesota, in a sports-loving family. My dad was a longtime high school basketball coach, so I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact coaches have on the lives of their players. My wife, Kylie, and I have six children, four of whom are still school-aged and living at home. They also love sports, so as you can imagine, our household stays very busy.
I first became involved with FCA in the fall of 2023 after responding to a nudge I had been feeling for several years to help start FCA in the schools in Worthington. I have always loved sports and the lessons they teach - teamwork, drive, goal setting, dedication, and perseverance. I also believe that when these are combined with the principles Jesus teaches about identity beyond performance, character under pressure, and resilience through adversity, it helps students develop a healthy perspective on sports and life.
As our Worthington huddles began to grow, I started feeling called to serve in a larger role with FCA. Seeing how much students enjoyed being involved and how meaningful the huddles became for them gave me a strong desire to help expand the reach of FCA throughout Southwest Minnesota.
After spending more than 30 years working as a pharmacist in community pharmacy, God has orchestrated a career change that now has me teaching college-level biology courses primarily in an online environment. This transition has provided me with the opportunity to step into an FCA Ambassador role in a 10–15 hour per week capacity.
My primary focus will be developing FCA League Ministry in our area. My first hands-on experience with leagues came this spring when we held a flag football league in Worthington. Watching kids enthusiastically engage not only in a sport they love, but also in a growing relationship with Jesus, really opened my eyes to the impact FCA Leagues can have on youth and their families.
I am excited to see how God continues to use FCA to reach coaches, athletes, and communities across Southwest Minnesota.
