DIRK SPITZNAGLE

SOUTH METRO PROSPECTIVE AREA DIRECTOR  | DSPITZNAGLE@FCA.ORG

Dirk Spitznagle will serve as the Director of the South Metro with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), bringing a unique blend of corporate leadership, deep ministry experience, and a lifelong passion for athletics to the role.

Originally from Bloomington, Minnesota, Dirk grew up playing competitive soccer for various Twin Cities clubs, the Minnesota Olympic Development Program (ODP), and St. Paul Academy, eventually earning the opportunity to play Division 1 soccer at Marquette University. At age 21, facing the transition away from competitive collegiate play, Dirk experienced a profound spiritual turning point, coming to know Christ as his true foundation after realizing soccer had previously taken center stage in his life.

Over the past 25 years, Dirk has balanced a successful corporate career with a dedicated calling to ministry, serving in numerous leadership and board roles. His transition to FCA marks an exciting new chapter centered on leveraging the power of sports to point others toward Christ.

Dirk and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for 21 years and reside in the South Metro area with their four children: Nora (18), Levi (16), Faith (14), and Oscar (12). The family’s soccer legacy continues, as all four children play competitively, and Dirk remains deeply embedded in the local sports community as a coach, Director of Coaching, and board member. Dirk is eager to humbly walk where the Lord leads, serving the South Metro community and using the gift of sport to glorify Him.
