This fall, Minnesota FCA Golf Director Mike Sieffert brought high school golfers together for Play & Pray, a six-week series focused on building relationships, growing in faith, and enjoying time on the golf course.
Each outing began with a brief warm-up and friendly competitions on the driving range, followed by group prayer and nine holes of golf. Throughout their time on the course, players had opportunities to discuss life, faith, and what it means to follow Jesus in their everyday lives.
One of the most encouraging parts of the program was watching participants invite their friends, allowing the group to grow throughout the fall. Several players had also participated in FCA's winter golf training program, providing opportunities to continue discipleship conversations and hear how they were living out their faith at school, on their teams, and with their families.
One of the greatest opportunities we have through FCA is to meet athletes right where they are, even on the golf course! Through a shared love of sports, we're able to build meaningful relationships, share the Gospel, and invest in the lives of young athletes in ways that extend far beyond the game.
At the heart of FCA's mission is making disciples who make disciples. Seeing these young men grow in their faith, invite others to join them, and begin living out what they're learning is a beautiful picture of that mission in action.
With hopes to expand Play & Pray to additional facilities next fall, we're excited to see how God continues to use the game of golf to transform lives and raise up the next generation of disciples!
