A Snapshot into South Metro FCA Ministry

Tanja Hansen • November 3, 2026

Across Minnesota, God is moving through FCA as coaches, volunteers, and student leaders share the Gospel and make disciples. Here's a glimpse into just one month of ministry in the South Metro.

What does a month of FCA ministry look like?

Across Minnesota, our FCA staff are working to reach coaches and athletes with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But the incredible thing about FCA is that this ministry extends far beyond the work of our staff. Through relationships with local coaches, pastors, volunteers, and student leaders, we are seeing God open doors to reach the next generation right where they are.

In the South Metro area of the Twin Cities, FCA Area Representative Adam Laposky is currently the only FCA staff member serving this area. Yet, through the faithful involvement of volunteer leaders and students, ministry is happening across multiple schools and communities.

Adam recently shared an update with his ministry partners highlighting what God has been doing throughout the month. We wanted to share a glimpse into these Huddles and the incredible opportunities God is providing to share His Word, encourage young believers, and equip students to live boldly for Christ.

Jefferson/Kennedy FCA

At the most recent Jefferson/Kennedy FCA Huddle, local Pastor Nick Dyrud came to speak to the students. Pastor Nick has been taking time out of his busy schedule for years to minister to this FCA Huddle.

Nick shared a message on 2 Peter 1:5-7, which talks about the qualities Christians are called to cultivate as they grow in their faith.

I have mentioned in previous updates that it seems the Lord is doing something unique in this group, and that is still evident today. These young men and women are very passionate about God and His Gospel, and I am excited to see how God is going to move this year!

Eastview/Rosemount FCA

Earlier this month, Adult Huddle Leader Jarrett Allen spoke at the Eastview/Rosemount Huddle. Jarrett is a teacher at Rosemount High School and one of our new leaders. He is very passionate about teaching sound doctrine, apologetics, and evangelism.

Jarrett spoke about the holiness of God, the sinfulness of man, and what Jesus accomplished on the cross. A couple of weeks later, Jarrett's friend Kevin Munga came to speak about sanctification and how God sets us apart to be made holy.

It's exciting to see the Lord moving in the lives of these young men and women. They have an enthusiastic zeal and passion for the Lord that seems to be contagious!

Two Rivers FCA

At our most recent Two Rivers Huddle, we changed things up a bit! Instead of meeting in the high school gym, we gathered at The Heights Racquet and Social Club, which graciously provided a free night of pickleball.

To kick off the Huddle, our FCA students had a very competitive pickleball tournament. I also played pickleball for the first time in my life, which was a very humbling experience for me!

We also had Pastor Eric Lashbrook come and speak to the students that evening. You might remember hearing about Eric in my previous updates, as he was an Adult Huddle Leader at Eagan FCA last year.

Eric spoke about Romans 12:1-2 and what it means to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. It turned out to be such a great night!

Burnsville FCA

The Burnsville FCA Huddle has been meeting every other Friday morning, and they have begun going through lessons on FCA's discipleship strategy, E3: Engage, Equip, and Empower.

We begin by engaging God first, then engaging others relationally, with the Gospel, and with the goal of multiplication. We equip others in community through prayer and the Word of God. Finally, we empower others by modeling Christ-like behavior and leadership, assisting them as they begin to lead, watching them grow, and ultimately launching them to disciple others.

The heart behind these Scripture-filled lessons is making disciples who make disciples who make disciples.

We are off to a great start for the school year! Please pray that God would continue to multiply this group.

Eagan FCA

I recently met with the student leaders for the Eagan FCA Huddle and led them in a study of Zechariah 3:1-5.

In this passage, Zechariah sees a vision of Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing beside him to accuse him. Joshua is clothed in filthy garments, but the LORD rebukes Satan, orders the removal of the filthy garments, declares that Joshua's iniquity has been taken away, and clothes him in pure garments.

This is such an amazing passage of Scripture because it gives us a picture of the Gospel and how Jesus clothes us with His own righteousness.

We had an in-depth discussion about how we are justified before God and how Jesus sets us free not only from the penalty of sin, but also from the power of sin.

I am so impressed with these student leaders, and I am excited to see how the Lord will use them going forward. We are preparing for our Eagan FCA kickoff, so please pray for a great turnout!

The Power of Muliplicatoin

Five FCA Huddles. Multiple communities. One month of ministry. And just one FCA staff member.

What an incredible picture of how God is working through FCA in the South Metro!

These updates are more than a collection of meetings and activities. They represent students opening God's Word, growing in their understanding of the Gospel, building relationships with Christian mentors, and being equipped to share Jesus with those around them.

And this is the beauty of FCA's ministry model.

FCA is a volunteer-intensive ministry built on relationships and multiplication. Our staff invest in coaches and volunteers who pour into student leaders. Those student leaders are then equipped and empowered to reach their teammates, classmates, and peers with the Gospel.

One person investing in another, who invests in another. Disciples making disciples.

We are incredibly grateful for Adam's faithful leadership and for the many volunteer leaders who generously give their time, energy, and hearts to this ministry. Their investment is helping create opportunities for the next generation to know Jesus and make Him known.

And this is just one snapshot of what God is doing across Minnesota through FCA!

Please join us in praying for continued growth, more volunteer leaders, and more opportunities to reach coaches and athletes with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
