About David...

Hometown: Milwaukee, WI

College: Macalester College (Economics)

University of Northwestern - St. Paul (Master of Arts in Theological Studies)

People you looked up to most as a child: Ray Allen, Davey Crockett, and Brett Favre

Favorite food: Grilled chicken and veggies

Perfect day: It could involve any combination of my wife Laura, our church family/friends/family, our pup Kronkite, hiking/mountain climbing, being unplugged in the wilderness, little kiddos, cabin time, a good book, a hammock, a rigorous weight room workout, digging into the Bible with college students, getting out of my comfort zone, etc.

Favorite sports moment: On December 22, 2003, Brett Favre led the Packers in a game that reminded people football is simply but powerfully a game. Favre's father died that day, and I recall his receivers going above and beyond to make plays for Favre and the team. I recall admiring the perseverance, brotherhood, and example of playing sports for something bigger than ourselves even more than Favre's stat line.

Favorite Bible verse: "...I [Jesus] am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing… By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and that your joy may be full… These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full…" John 15:1-17
