Guest Speaker - Maurice Staley

My name is Maurice Staley and I was born in Charlotte, NC.  My wife, Becki (Wells) Staley and I have been married for 12 years. We have been blessed with four wonderful boys: Eleazar (12), Ephraim (11), Nahshon (7), Nathan (6).  I pastor a small non-denominational church in Mapleton, MN.  My athletic career blossomed at West Charlotte High School, ending with two state runner-up finishes in football and a state championship in basketball.

Finishing as a consensus All-American, #1 rated wide receiver in the country, I signed with the University of Tennessee in 1994.  With the #1 recruiting class that year, I had the privilege of catching passes from Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.  After being a two year letterman I went on to sign a free-agent contract with the Carolina Panthers in 1997.  I was able to attain my BA in Psychology from UT and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University.

Having been an exceptional athlete with a promising career,  I have since come to have a phenomenal relationship with Jesus Christ.  My interest and involvement in FCA is built upon helping the athletes understand, appreciate, and nurture the platform they naturally have, helping them give honor and glory to the One from whom they have received their gift.
